While groundbreaking is anticipated this year, and delivery is not scheduled until 2021, the Helmut Jahn-designed ultra-luxury condominium tower 1000M has already transformed Michigan Avenue south of the Chicago River into the must-visit Chicago cultural Mile. With museums, theaters, and art galleries along the stretch, this walkers'-delight is enhanced with Grant Park and the Lakefront just across the street

1000M Chicago South Loop

Destined to make a bold statement on the downtown Chicago skyline, 1000M will rise 74-stories amidst an open area, offering residents natural light and forever-views in all directions. Once complete, the architecturally significant tower will feature a curving green-blue glass facade broken up by opaque metallic bands marking each floor plate, and a top surrounded by metal mesh.

Kara Mann's Design Vision for 1000M Condominiums Started with the Layouts

Working closely with Helmut Jahn in the early planning stages, Kara Mann brought her style sensibilities first to the residences' layouts, optimizing views and square footage, featuring open plans, glass walls, and lots of natural light. The modern interiors will be built-out with natural wood floors, a mix of stone options in the kitchens and bathrooms, custom cabinetry, Sub-zero refrigerators, and Wolf ranges. Bathrooms will include "wet rooms" furnished with large soaking tubs and oversized showers.
