The Museum Campus neighborhood also includes the 12th Street Beach and Northerly Island Park, a 91-acre peninsula that extends into Lake Michigan. The park has landscaped walking paths and play areas and is home to many of Illinois' natural wildlife, including monarch butterflies and herons, and migratory birds..
